How to Undo Reporting a Text Message as Junk: A Step-by-Step Guide

Unintentionally marking a message as "Report Junk" on your iPhone can be a frustrating experience. But fear not, because there's a way to remedy the situation and bring back those important texts.

What unfolds when you hit "Report Junk"?

  1. The message and sender information is sent to Apple for review.

  2. The text message is deleted from your phone.

Contrary to popular belief, the sender doesn't get the boot from your inbox. If you're looking to sever ties with an unwanted correspondent, you'll need to resort to the blocking feature.

How to recover a deleted message:

  1. Open the Messages app.

  2. Tap "Filters" or "Edit" at the top left.

  3. Go to "Show Recently Deleted."

  4. Find the message and tap "Recover" in the bottom right.
