New Apple TV
The new Apple TV introduces upgraded hardware alongside a new software platform called “tvOS” and whole lot more.
The new Apple TV (4th Gen) device features completely refreshed hardware, a new user experience, and an App Store, built on a new modern operating system. There’s also a new remote, which features both tactile buttons, as well as a glass touch surface. Siri is built into the new Apple TV which helps you find exactly what you’re looking for. How many times have you watched a movie and said “What did he say”? Well, now you can just press on the mic button on the new remote and ask “What did he just say?” Siri will skip back and temporarily and replay the video and turn on closed captioning, so you can see what you missed. The Apple TV’s software has received a major overhaul, with its own app store, major speed improvements, new 3D movie poster artwork, smart video timeline scrubbing, and new slow-motion video screen-savers. You can even connect Bluetooth headphones and speakers. Now that Apple has opened up the Apple TV to app developers, this will bring huge capabilities and advances to your entertainment hub.
Here just some of the other things you can ask or tell Siri to do on the new Apple TV
“What’s the temperature outside?”
“Fast-forward two minutes”
“Play from the beginning”
“Turn on Enhanced Speech”
“Who is winning the Dodgers game?”
“Show me all the movies that David Fincher has directed”
The new Apple TV is powered by a new A8 processor, and features ethernet, power, HDMI, Lightning connector for charging the remote, Bluetooth 4.0, and 802.11ac Wi‑Fi with MIMO. The Optical Audio connection has been taken away. Prices will start at $149 for 32GB and $199 for 64GB.
